conflict roles in the forensic setting 200 word discussion

Assignment 1: Conflicting Roles in the Forensic Setting

Correctional psychology is a specialty area within the field of forensic psychology. Work in this setting can present specific challenges for evaluators and treatment providers. For example, a psychology professional working in a corrections facility might serve in dual roles with clients since he or she will likely provide them treatment and evaluate them for early release, risk for dangerousness, and to make recommendations for postrelease conditions. This assignment will introduce you to the specific challenges faced while writing a risk assessment report on a client you have treated during his or her incarceration and presenting the data to the parole board for the purpose of early release. The client has served two years of his four-year sentence for aggravated assault; during this period, he or she has made significant progress, while under your care, with impulse control, anger management, and the ability to challenge his or her criminal thought patterns. You have conducted your risk assessment and are now ready to write your report. Before you write your report, you will have to think about these important factors. Discuss them in your initial post.

Using your textbook and Argosy University online library resources, respond to the following in a minimum of 200 words:The APA stance on dual relationships for psychology professionals in a correctional settingThe inherent conflict a psychology professional in a corrections setting might experience by being in the dual role of a treatment provider and an evaluatorThe individual client factors that might influence prerelease decisions made by psychology professionals in a corrections setting

Some of these differences include comfort with  relationship intimacy  and  physical contact,  perceptions of attractiveness, reasons for mate selection, and the role of  emotion  within relationships (Crisp & Turner, 2010).

For this Discussion, review the Learning Resources and research two articles related to either gender and affiliation or gender and attraction. Consider how gender may relate to affiliation and attraction and whether or not you agree with the articles you selected.

Ethical system and Me

We have learned to use moral reasoning and examined many ethical theories in this course. These include virtue ethics, utilitarianism, social contract, deontology with goals (Hinduism and Buddhism), deontology with divine authority (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam), relativism (individual and cultural), and deontology with a categorical imperative (Kant).

Think back about your impressions of each of these ethical systems and write a 1,000 to 1,250-word essay that addresses the following questions below. Be sure to write good introductory and concluding paragraphs in your essay.Summarize the principle components of each of the seven ethical systems studied in this course (listed above), including the principle ethicist involved in developing the system. Use two or three sentences for each ethical system.Which ethical system is most prevalent in the United States today? In the World?  Explain your answer and support your response. Which ethical system most closely matches your personal ethical system? Why do you think so?  Explain your position. Please give a short, personal example that supports your decision to identify your ethical system (3 or 4 sentences) and explain why it does so.Examine your response to previous assignments in Modules 1 thru 4 in this course.  Are there any inconsistencies or conflict between positions you took in earlier assignments and the ethical system identified in this paper? For example, monotheists (Christians, Muslims, and Jews) believe in universal maxims. Relativists do not think universal maxims are possible.  One cannot, for example be a Christian and believe no universal maxims exist, which is a relativist position. Monotheism (Christianity) and relativism are polar opposites. If inconsistencies exist between your earlier answers and this paper, how do you resolve them in your ethical decision-making process in the real world?Add at least three references to support your analysis in this paper.

Post a 4-5-page (1000-1250 -word)

Make sure to provide specific examples that support your points AND use trait terminology to explain your opinions.

week 5 dq 1&2

In your opinion, discuss two of the roles listed above and their role in the delivery of quality care. 2.CQI Reflection

In the first week of the course, you were tasked with completing the Introduction Self-Check and posting your definition of CQI based on your knowledge at that time. Over the last 5 weeks, we have learned about legal and regulatory requirements, government mandates, and CQI models and tools, as well as how to analyze the use of data in improvement processes related to ensuring the delivery of quality care. In reflection of the past 5 weeks, compare your initial knowledge of the CQI process (and all that it entails) to your newly acquired knowledge. Discuss your thoughts on CQI. Discuss at least two new concepts that you learned and how you think they can be applied in your professional career after graduation. Include an example of how a CQI process can be used to improve patient care within the scope of your chosen career.

Guided Response: Choose two classmates’ responses and respond by adding a different viewpoint to how they will apply CQI. For example, you can add information that they may not have thought of in their example or include a website resource that can illustrate the use of CQI based on their response. Share ideas, articles, and other sources that you have found in your research over the last 5 weeks with your classmates.

In modern American society, adolescence is undoubtedly one of the longest transitional periods of life. A child enters this stage and, roughly 10 years later, a man or woman emerges, a fully formed human being ready to begin adult life. What happens during these years that turns a boy into a man and a girl into a woman? Why does the transition take so long? The adolescent years are sometimes confusing, often tumultuous, and sometimes filled with challenges and life-altering decisions.
