[Recommended] Martial Arts Academy –
During the initiation phase of traditional project management, the project and current state of IT project management is defined. The concepts of life cycles, methodologies, professional standards, and processes for managing IT projects are introduced. The first step in beginning a project and core project team formation is drafting a project charter. This charter will help the group define the project management processes and project methodology and is the first piece of the project management plan.
Read the “Husky Air – Pilot Angels” and “The Martial Arts Academy – School Management System” extended case study content at the end of Chapters 1 and 2 in the textbook. Select either “Husky Air – Pilot Angels” or “The Martial Arts Academy – School Management System” as the focus of your group project.
Review the textbook guidelines for what is typically included in a team charter. These can be found within the “Husky Air – Pilot Angels” and “The Martial Arts Academy – School Management System” content.
Using the topic Resources and your own research, complete the following.
1. “Deliverable: Team Charter” as directed in Chapter 1 of the textbook.
2. Draft project charter, including project name, project team name, and the names of your project team.
3. Brief summary of the challenge, problem, or opportunity statement that your team has developed.
4. Document the action plan for finalizing the project charter using the information presented in Chapter 2 of the textbook.
